The Fed skipped this month’s rate hike, as expected, but gave more hawkish projections than expected. The dot plot indicated 12 out of 19 officials supported another this year, and a median estimate of a 5.1% rate at the end of 2024, up from the 4.6% projection at the June’s meeting.
